Lee Silverman Voice Treatment (LSVT) is a therapy program used for Parkinson’s disease (PD), other neurological conditions, and voice disorders. At Talking Brains Center, LSVT Loud is used in speech and language therapy.
The program focuses on training people with PD to use their voices at a natural loudness level while speaking. The key to the treatment is helping people “recalibrate” their perceptions so they know how loud or soft they sound to other people and can feel comfortable using a stronger voice at the standard loudness level.
